2007 chinese horoscopes for all animals on line now The origins of Chinese astrology are lost within the remote antiquities of time. Their Great Epoch of 3600 years is broken down into 60 year cycles which are further subdivided into five 12 year periods. Five is the number of Chinese elements (fire, water, wood, earth, metal) and twelve is the number of animal signs (rat,ox,tiger, etc). The Elements Fire is linked with the red planet Mars and endows one with a self-assurety to forge ahead and embrace the new. Fire people are impulsive, impatient and innovative. They are the real doers who motivate by a personal example of passion and adour.
Earth is associated with Saturn, and its natives are solid, practical staunchons of responsibility with the diligence to see projects to completion. Their no frills realism stabilizes situations, although they can be materialistic and stubborn. Water is connected to Mercury and its reflective qualities produce an introverted awarness as well as emotional empathy and communicative understanding. Water finds its own level but can be largely affected by its surrounds. Wood people relate to the expansive nature of Jupiter. These rustic folk love nature, children and anything that grows. Their abundance makes for good executives and creative artists. Metal is identified with Venus. The resilience and strength of the Metal native is counterbalanced by rigid unbending viewpoints. They are influential to others, but may stay with situations well past their use by date. The order of the animals The exact origin of these animal motifs is a debatable point which no-one seems to have satisfactorily answered, suffice to say that they have been popularised by western astrologers familiar with a twelve sign zodiacal system. Legend has it that the Buddha summoned the animals to him before he departed from earth. The twelve creatures that arrived first were each honoured with a year dedicated to their name. Nearing the completion of the journey they came to a river which both the Rat and Cat realized they couldn't cross. The crafty Rat asked the Ox if he could hop on his back to which the Ox complied. Just before the Ox trudged to shore the Rat leapt onto the riverbank making him first in the line of animal signs. Meanwhile the Cat was left behind. It is said that this is why to this day the jealous Cat chases wily Rat. Really Chinese astrology, is based on empiricism rather than science and remains an inscrutable mystery to the material western mind. But to them it is no mystery that modern China founded in 1949, an Ox year should lose their aging leader Deng early in 1997 the Year of the Fire Ox. A cycle is completed and Fire refers to new beginnings. Australian Federation occurred during 1901 Year of the Metal Rat. Is it co-incidence that the record Liberal term in power ceased after 23 years in 1972 a Rat year ? and Labor's record run ended in 1996, another Year of the Rat ?
